Macy's Black Friday 2011 Sales starts at Midnight

We already reported that Target will open its stores at midnight following Thanksgiving. Now department store Macy's also says to open its stores at midnight.  Usually Macy's opened at 4am on Black Friday. More details in this AP story.

It looks like this is going to be a wider trend to open stores at midnight for the Black Friday sales. This way customers do not have to camp outside in the cold and can already get into the stores midnight for their Black Friday shopping.

Walmart is keeping their stores open between Thanksgiving and Black Friday, but the Black Friday deals go on sale at a certain time in the Black Friday morning. We do not know the details yet for the Walmart Black Friday 2011 Sale.
